ENSEMBLE IN LIMBO
in limbo:
- in a precarious, indefinite, or suspended state or condition in which the outcome is uncertain
- an otherworldly region on the border of heaven and hell

Ensemble in Limbo is my ongoing live electroacoustic project that delves into the realms of collaborative creation, collective composing, and a spectralist approach to composition. This project aims to encourage a slow and contemplative musical environment, inviting both the audience and participants to embark on an introspective listening journey, making each concert a unique experience.

Workshops are an integral part of the project, providing opportunities for community connections, collaborative music-making, and unique musical encounters with local musicians and the audience. Inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening philosophy, Terry Riley and La Monte Young’s minimalist aesthetics, and Catherine Christer Hennix’s drone music, Ensemble in Limbo aims to contribute to this rich musical heritage by reimagining and elevating it through alternative tuning, open musical structures, and improvisational techniques.
